Quick answers
All answers on uppababy.com.auHow long is the UPPAbaby warranty in Australia?
Three years from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects, on prams, strollers, bouncers, high chairs, playards, swings, bassinets and selected accessories including the RumbleSeat, Changing Station and PiggyBack. All other accessories carry two years.
On top of that, every pram is eligible for complimentary maintenance checks for up to ten years from purchase under Lifetime Service Support. Full terms are on the warranty page.
What is Lifetime Service Support?
Complimentary maintenance checks on your pram for up to ten years from the original purchase date. We inspect and adjust the brakes, wheels, harness, fold mechanism and canopy at Tune-Up Days held around Australia.
It covers inspection and basic adjustment only. Replacement parts and major repairs are not included, and bookings are required because places are limited.
Do I need to register my pram?
Registration does not extend your warranty, which is three years either way. It records your purchase against your name so a claim does not depend on you finding a receipt, and it lets us contact you directly if there is ever a safety notice on your product.
Register with your receipt attached. We have to sight proof of purchase before any warranty claim can be processed, so a registration with the receipt on it is the thing that makes a later claim quick.
It takes about two minutes. You need the serial number from the frame near the rear axle. Register here.
Do I need my receipt to make a warranty claim?
Yes, in every case. A warranty claim is assessed from the date of purchase, so we have to sight proof of purchase from an authorised Australian retailer showing the retailer and the date. Without it we cannot confirm whether the product is inside its warranty period.
Registering your product and uploading the receipt at the time of purchase is the way to deal with this once: we hold the receipt on file and the claim starts straight away. A registration with no receipt attached is not proof of purchase, so we will still have to ask you for one.
My pram was in a car accident. What should I do?
The Crash Exchange Program covers the Mesa capsule and the Mesa base. Prams and strollers are not part of it.
If your Mesa capsule or base was in a vehicle during an accident, stop using it now, even if it looks undamaged, and lodge a claim under the Crash Exchange Program within 30 days. We do not ask you to prove visible damage.
If your pram was damaged, lodge a request with photos and we will let you know your options.
Can I buy spare parts?
Yes. Wheels, canopies, harnesses, bumper bars, baskets and replacement fabrics are all available through the spare parts collection.
If you are not sure which part you need, send a photograph to the support team rather than guessing. Part numbers change between model versions.
Will an UPPAbaby pram fit in my boot?
Measure the shortest side of your boot opening and compare it to the pram's folded height, which is the dimension that usually decides it.
Folded with the seat attached: Minu V3 is 25 x 45 x 55 cm. Kona is 34 x 53.3 x 65.5 cm. Vista V3 is 41.4 x 65.3 x 85.9 cm. Cruz V3 is 43 x 57.2 x 82.3 cm. Minu Duo is 33 x 70.6 x 60.2 cm. Ridge V2 is 49.5 x 65 x 91.4 cm.
Vista and Cruz both fold smaller again with the seat removed: Vista to 28.7 x 65.3 x 82.9 cm, Cruz to 34.3 x 57.2 x 76.9 cm. The boot fit tool does the comparison for you.
How wide is the Minu Duo?
The Minu Duo is 70.6 cm wide, and it is designed to fit through a standard 73 cm doorway.
Those are two different measurements. The pram itself is 70.6 cm; the 73 cm figure is the doorway it clears.
How much do UPPAbaby prams weigh?
Minu V3 is 7.6 kg, Kona is 9.9 kg, Cruz V3 is 12 kg with the seat on, Vista V3 is 12.5 kg with the seat on, Minu Duo is 12.7 kg and Ridge V2 is 13.7 kg.
Vista splits into a 9 kg frame and a 3.5 kg seat, which matters if you are lifting it into a high boot on your own.
How long will my child fit in the pram?
Vista V3, Cruz V3 and Kona take a child to 22.7 kg. Minu V3 takes a child to 22.7 kg. Minu Duo takes 22.7 kg per seat.
In practice most children are out of a pram before they reach the weight limit, so seat height and legroom tend to matter more than the number.
Does the Mesa capsule fit my UPPAbaby pram?
The Mesa clicks directly onto Vista, Cruz and Kona with no adapters. It fits Minu V3, Minu Duo and Ridge V2 with the matching adapter set, sold separately.
That means a sleeping baby moves from the car to the pram without being unbuckled, which is the single most useful thing a capsule does.
Can I take an UPPAbaby pram on a plane?
Yes. The Minu V3 is the pram to fly with: it weighs 7.6 kg and folds to 25 x 45 x 55 cm, which meets the IATA overhead standard. Whether it can go in the cabin is up to your airline, so check before you book.
Other prams are normally checked at the gate or go in the hold. Pack yours in an UPPAbaby travel bag and register it under the TravelSafe Program before you fly, because airline damage is otherwise excluded from the warranty.
The Mesa capsule is CASA approved for aircraft use on airlines that permit child restraints.
What weight is the Mesa suitable for?
From Birth (2.0 kg) to 15 kg, which is approximately birth to 12 months. It is low birthweight tested and approved, and there is a custom-fit infant insert for premature babies.
The carrier weighs 4.7 kg without the canopy and insert, and the base weighs 4.1 kg.
Which UPPAbaby pram can I use from birth?
Vista V3, Cruz V3, Minu V3 and Minu Duo are all suitable from birth as sold. Vista includes the bassinet in the box. Cruz and Minu include an infant insert and a from-birth recline. Minu Duo is from birth on both seats.
Ridge V2 is the exception. It is a jogger, and it needs a bassinet or a Mesa capsule to be used before about six months.
Kona is from birth as sold: the seat lies flat. The UPPAbaby bassinet and the Mesa capsule attach directly as alternatives.
What is the difference between the Vista and the Cruz?
Vista carries up to three children and Cruz carries one. That is the decision.
Both have the same seat quality, the same canopy and the same fabrics. Vista has a larger frame that accepts a second seat, a second bassinet or a PiggyBack board, and it ships with the bassinet included. Cruz is narrower and lighter and does not take a second seat at all.
Vista is $1,799 and weighs 12.5 kg with the seat on. Cruz is $1,299 and weighs 12 kg. If one child is genuinely the plan, Cruz is the better buy and the smaller fold.
Can a Vista carry two children?
Yes. Vista V3 takes a second seat or a second bassinet on the same frame, and a PiggyBack board makes room for a third child to stand at the back. There are more than thirty configurations off the one frame.
This is the reason Vista costs more than Cruz. If a second child is possible, Vista is the frame that absorbs it without you buying a second pram.
Which pram is best for twins?
Minu Duo. It is a side-by-side double with two equal-sized seats, both usable from birth, and it is narrow enough to clear a standard 73 cm doorway.
Vista is also an option for twins using two bassinets or two seats, but it carries them one in front of the other rather than side by side, and it is a larger fold. Minu Duo is $1,299.
Which is the lightest UPPAbaby?
Minu V3, at 7.6 kg. It folds to 25 x 45 x 55 cm and stands on its own.
It is the only model in the range that folds small enough to be treated as carry-on sized luggage, which is why it is the usual choice for families who fly.
What is the difference between a pram and a stroller?
In the UPPAbaby range, prams are the full-size frames with larger wheels, larger baskets and reversible or convertible seating: Vista, Cruz, Ridge and Kona. Strollers are the lighter, more compact frames built around a small fold: Minu V3 and Minu Duo.
The words are used interchangeably in Australia, so the practical question is not what it is called but how big it is folded and how many children it carries. The comparison tool puts those side by side.
Is buying direct from UPPAbaby Australia cheaper?
No. Our prices match authorised retailers, and we do not undercut the shops that stock us.
What buying direct gets you is genuine stock, the Australian warranty, and four month lay-by. What buying from a retailer gets you is the chance to push the pram before you commit, which for a purchase at this price is worth a Saturday morning.
Where can I try an UPPAbaby pram in person?
Authorised retailers around Australia stock the range. Use the store locator to find the closest.
Our sales team are on the floor at retailers on weekends, and we take the full range to every major baby expo in the country, where you can fold one, lift it and check it against your own boot. The show dates are on the Meet the Experts page.
Do you offer lay-by?
Yes, four month lay-by on orders placed directly with UPPAbaby Australia.
It is not available on clearance or discontinued models, damaged box sales, special orders or gift cards, or on any bundle that contains one of them. A lay-by holds stock for up to four months, and a runout line cannot be held that long. The full terms are here.
Is delivery free?
Free on orders of $99 and over, anywhere in Australia. Under $99 it is a flat $15, whatever you have bought and wherever it is going.
There is no bulky-item surcharge, so a pram ships on the same terms as a cup holder.
Can I buy an UPPAbaby pram overseas and use the warranty here?
No. The UPPAbaby warranty is valid only in the country of original purchase, and UPPAbaby will not ship replacement or repair parts outside that country.
A pram bought overseas is not covered by the Australian warranty and is not eligible for Lifetime Service Support here, regardless of where you live now.
