No. A toddler seat, including a Cruz seat, must never go on the Vista lower adapters. For two seated children, use the toddler seat on top and a RumbleSeat underneath.
Why it is unsafe
A toddler seat may fit on the lower adapters, but the lower adapters were not designed to hold the weight of a toddler, and this setup has not been tested. It is unsafe for your child.
Damage caused by improper installation of UPPAbaby parts or accessories is not covered by the warranty.
What can go in the lower position
On a Vista, whatever rides on top takes the upper adapter and whatever rides underneath takes the lower one. The lower position is for:
- a Mesa capsule, with the UPPAbaby Vista Lower Adapter (the Mesa never uses capsule adapters)
- a bassinet, with the Vista lower adapters
- an approved capsule from another brand, with the UPPAbaby Vista Lower Infant Car Seat Adapters. Every approved capsule fits underneath this way
- a RumbleSeat, which brings its own adapters in the box
Two children seated
Use the Vista toddler seat on top and a RumbleSeat underneath. The main seat carries a child to 22.7 kg. The RumbleSeat V3 carries a child from 6 months to 15.9 kg, so the bigger child goes in the main seat.
The Cruz does not take a second seat. No accessory changes this.
The Which adapter do I need? page shows every combination.
Good to know
A toddler seat always goes on top The lower adapters are for a bassinet, a capsule or a RumbleSeat with its own adapters. Never use them for a toddler seat.
