Cruz V3: folding, ages and what fits

Modified on Fri, 2 Oct at 7:55 AM
A mum walks a Cruz V3 with a toddler past a white slatted fence under a blue sky.

The Cruz V3 is UPPAbaby's full-size pram for one child. It suits a baby from birth with the included infant insert, up to 22.7 kg, and folds with the seat on as long as the seat faces forward.

Folding the Cruz V3

Take the bassinet or the Mesa capsule off first. The toddler seat can stay on, but only when it faces forward, away from you.

  1. Put the brake on, turn the front wheel locks off and take anything heavy out of the basket.
  2. Turn the toddler seat to face forward, recline it to the second most upright position and close the canopy.
  3. Push the handlebar down to its lowest position. The Cruz V3 folds with the handlebar at its lowest.
  4. Squeeze the two fold triggers on the handlebar and push the handlebar forward and down until the frame locks with a click. The bumper bar goes down by itself as it folds.
  5. Check the latch on the left side of the frame has caught before you lift or carry it. The Cruz V3 stands on its own when folded.

For a smaller fold

  • Tuck the footrest away before you fold.
  • Take the seat off: folded with the seat on it is 43 x 57.2 x 82.3 cm, and with the seat off 34.3 x 57.2 x 76.9 cm.
  • Measure your boot opening, not the space inside it.

Ages and limits

  • Toddler seat: from birth with the included infant insert, up to 22.7 kg. It faces you or faces out.
  • Bassinet (sold separately): clicks straight onto the frame. From birth to 9 kg, or until your baby can push up on hands and knees, whichever comes first.
  • Basket: 13.6 kg.
  • Weight: 12 kg with the seat on (frame 7.7 kg, seat 4.3 kg).

Car capsules

The UPPAbaby Mesa capsule clicks straight onto the Cruz V3 with no adapter.

A capsule from another brand needs the Vista and Cruz car seat upper adapter. Only these models fit:

  • Maxi-Cosi Mico AP / Mico Plus
  • Maxi-Cosi Citi
  • Maxi-Cosi Mico 12 and Mico 12LX (manufactured after 20 April 2022)
  • Nuna PIPA
  • Nuna KLIK Plus
  • Joie i-Gemm
  • Britax B-Pod
  • Britax B-Pod Lite

One child, plus a ride-along board

The Cruz V3 does not take a second seat, and no accessory changes that. If a second child is likely, the Vista V3 is the pram that takes one.

An older child can ride on the Cruz PiggyBack Ride-Along Board, sold separately. It takes a standing child up to 25 kg.

Manual and support

The manual, videos and parts are on the Cruz V3 support page. For a Cruz V2, the manual is on the product manuals page.

Good to know

Seat facing forward A seat facing you, or in the wrong recline, is the most common reason a fold sticks. Face it forward in the second most upright position, with the canopy closed, before you squeeze the triggers.
