How do I clean my UPPAbaby pram?

A dad in a cafe booth leans towards a baby reclining in a black Cruz V3.

Spot clean or hand wash the fabrics in cold water with a mild detergent, and dry them flat out of the sun. Do not machine wash them. The harness is wipe only.

Fabrics

The seat fabric, the bassinet liner and mattress cover, and the canopy all come off the frame. To wash them:

  1. Close the zip pockets.
  2. Spot clean, or hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not put them in the washing machine. No bleach, no fabric softener, no ironing and no dry cleaning.
  3. Dry them flat, in the shade and out of direct sun, and let them dry fully before they go back on the pram or are put away. Never tumble dry: heat shrinks and cracks the fabric coating.

Marks and sunscreen

Between washes, a damp cloth and a drop of dish soap handles most marks. Treat sunscreen straight away: wipe it off the same day with a damp cloth and a little dish soap, then rinse. Left in the fabric, it stains and breaks the fibres down.

The harness

Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap, and let it dry. Do not soak it, machine wash it or scrub it. If it has gone stiff or stained beyond wiping, replace it; harnesses are available as spare parts.

Frame, handlebar and bumper bar

Use warm water, a soft cloth and a little mild soap on the frame. Do not use scourers or abrasive cleaners. Dry it afterwards, especially around the fold joints and the locking latch, where grit collects. If the frame has had salt water or sea spray on it, rinse it with fresh tap water as soon as you can, because salt corrodes the frame.

Wipe the leather or leatherette on the handlebar and bumper bar with a damp cloth only. Do not use leather conditioner; it makes them slippery.

Wheels

Rinse sand and grit out with water and let them dry. No oil and no lubricant spray.

More help

There is a short video on removing and reattaching the toddler seat fabric, and every manual is on the product manuals page.

Good to know

Never wash the harness The harness webbing is a safety part, and washing weakens it. Wipe it only.
