Ciro Highchair: setting up, ages and cleaning

An UPPAbaby Ciro highchair in Jake charcoal with natural wood legs, tray and footrest

The Ciro Highchair is for children from 4 months to 3 years, up to 15 kg, once they can sit up on their own. The tray adjusts in or lifts off so the chair pulls up to your table, and it goes in the dishwasher.

Setting it up

UPPAbaby's set-up video below shows how to put the Ciro together and adjust it. The chair, tray and harness come in the box. Check that every part is fitted and adjusted correctly and that the chair is stable before each use.

Ages and limits

The Ciro is suitable from 4 months to 3 years, up to 15 kg. The manual says not to use it until your child can sit up unaided, and recommends waiting until they are at least 4 months old.

Using it safely

These warnings come from the Ciro manual.

  • Always use the harness and adjust it to fit your child correctly. The tray is not designed to hold a child in the chair.
  • Never leave your child unattended in the chair.
  • Stop your child climbing on the chair.
  • The chair can tip if your child pushes their feet against the table or another surface.
  • Keep it away from open fires and other strong heat.
  • Do not use the chair if any part is broken, torn or missing, and use only the harness supplied by UPPAbaby.

Adjusting the tray and footrest

  • Tray: it adjusts in so a smaller child can reach their food, or lifts off entirely so you can pull the chair up to the dining table.
  • Footrest: it rotates between two heights, to keep your child's knees and hips near ninety degrees as they grow. A child who can brace their feet sits steadier.

Ciro Highchair Cushion

The Ciro Highchair Cushion adds padding to the seat. It attaches in seconds, has a non-slip base so it does not move in the seat, and is machine washable.

Cleaning

  • Seat, footrest and legs: wipe clean with a damp cloth. The seat is moulded without seams, so food has nowhere to collect.
  • Tray: dishwasher safe on the top rack only, with the tray top facing down. Or hand wash it and lay it flat to dry, tray top facing down.
  • Harness and buckle: the harness lifts out completely for a proper wash. Hand wash it in cold water with a mild detergent, or machine wash it cold on a gentle cycle in a garment bag. Do not bleach, and lay it flat to dry.

Finding the serial number

The serial number is on a label on the chair, shown in the diagram below. Send us the line under the barcode. It has CIR in the middle, like 0000CIRXXXXX123456789.

Warranty

The Ciro Highchair and the Ciro Highchair Cushion have a two year warranty against manufacturing defects. Warranty is for the original owner in the country of purchase, and you need proof of purchase showing the retailer and date. Normal wear, misuse, and sun or detergent damage are not covered. To make a warranty claim, include the serial number, daylight photos of the fault plus one of the whole chair, and when it started. If you are not sure, lodge a request and our Melbourne team will reply within one business day.
