Mira Baby Bouncer: ages, toy bars and cleaning

Modified on Fri, 2 Oct at 7:51 AM
A mum sits on the floor beside a smiling baby in a sand-coloured Mira baby bouncer

The Mira is a bouncer from birth (from 3.6 kg) and then a seat to 13 kg, depending on the position. It is a place for your baby to be awake and close to you, not a place to sleep.

Bouncer and seat: ages and limits

  • Bouncer: from birth (3.6 kg). The cosy seat liner in the box cradles a newborn and comes out when they no longer need it.
  • Seat: up to 13 kg, depending on the position.
  • Make sure the recline is locked before you put your child in. You can recline it with one hand.

Using it safely

These warnings come from the Mira product page and manual.

  • Do not use the Mira for sleep. If your baby falls asleep, move them as soon as you can to a firm, flat sleep surface such as a cot or bassinet.
  • Stay near and watch your baby. Never leave them in the bouncer unsupervised.
  • Always use the harness in bouncer mode and adjust it to fit snugly.
  • Never lift or carry the bouncer with your baby in it.
  • Keep it away from blinds, cords, straps and anything else that could wrap around a baby's neck.
  • Do not use it if it is damaged or broken.

Toy bars

The Forest Fun Toy Bar and the Wonder Wheel Toy Bar are made for the Mira. Each has toys that spin, squeak, jingle and crinkle, made with FSC certified timber. They attach and detach easily, and the bouncer folds with the toy bar on. Never use the toy bar to carry or lift the bouncer.

Folding it away

The Mira folds flat and comes with a storage bag. UPPAbaby's videos below show setting up in infant and toddler mode, and folding.

Cleaning

  • Fabrics and the cosy liner: machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean.
  • Frame and wood: wipe down with a damp cloth rather than soaking them. Wipe the bottom of the bouncer now and then so it grips the floor well.
  • Let everything dry fully before you put your baby back in.

Finding the serial number

The serial number is on a barcode sticker on the chrome frame underneath. Turn the bouncer over to see it. Send us the line under the barcode. It has MIR in the middle, like 1801MIRAU092300117.

Warranty

The Mira Baby Bouncer has a three year warranty against manufacturing defects. Warranty is for the original owner in the country of purchase, and you need proof of purchase showing the retailer and date. Normal wear, misuse, and sun or detergent damage are not covered. To make a warranty claim, include the serial number, daylight photos of the fault plus one of the whole bouncer, a short video if it is a noise or movement, and when it started. If you are not sure, lodge a request and our Melbourne team will reply within one business day.

Good to know

Awake, not asleep If your baby drops off in the Mira, move them to a firm, flat surface such as a cot or bassinet.
